Time Tracking

Are you feeling overwhelmed with how to price your services, meeting deadlines and going well over your set time for projects? 😣

Friend; let me introduce you to your greatest asset... time tracking!!!

If you aren't aware of how long projects and tasks are taking or what your approx "cost per hour" is then you should look to add software to track your hours.

When I first started out I really made sure to track my hours through my previous software (Hello Bonsai) for each project... once the project was up I took the final $ and divided it by the hours taken to give me a cost per hour and my gosh there was some extremes.

i.e $1000 divided by 8 hours = $125 per hour

I would then take the time to understand where the discrepancies came from.. was it my lack of boundaries, not correctly explaining my service process or was it purely not a great match.. each time refining my process and communication.

After a few months I was able to efficiently see where the gaps where and pick them up early.

Having an ideal cost per hour in my head also now helps me quote out bespoke projects easily and also see where I need to make up time or where I can allocate more hours if a client has been super efficient and succinct in feedback. I also now feel comfortable telling clients when I'm no longer able to offer more refinements under the original agreement.
