SEO - the area that most people love to hate on and feel most frustrated by!
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is quite simply the ease, use and experience of your website technically that help it to reach its intended audience in the most effective manner.. how Google, Bing and the like deliver the best answers/results to the questions people are searching for.
Whilst I am no SEO specific expert and highly recommend you invest in one at some stage in your biz, here are some simple ways to integrate best practice into your website build.
ッ Ensuring urls are correct
ッOptimize keywords throughout without over-using - Invest in a copywriter fluent in SEO/UX
ッ Ensure quick load time by optimising images/photos/ downloads.
ッ Contact details visible with details on location etc if you serve local communities particularly
ッ Social media present - link them up
ッ404 error page - create a custom one if you can. This is when people accidently type the wrong address or you move pages and it's a landing page that redirects people back to home
ッ Look at your UX design - this means create a website with clear flow and purpose... imagine you are the customer and see your website from there perspective
ッMetadata - ensure correct page names, image names, descriptions are all succinct, correct and informative.
ッGoogle your ass off; Add your business to "Google my business" and add your sitemap to Google console. If you are unsure how then Google (ironic) "Add squarespace sitemap to google search console" etc.
