Not sure what to post about on Instagram? Here's 5 caption ideas to get you going

Here’s 5 ideas for creating captions on Social Media that engage and captivate.
1. Introduce yourself
Followers are more likely to engage with posts when they see real people behind the brand. Don’t get put off by thinking “why would people be interested in me?”. If they are following your account, they are interested!
Take this opportunity to show your personality - what sort of things are you into outside of your business? What is something most people don’t know about you? You don’t need to go too personal and pour your heart out if you don’t want to! But simple things like your favourite film or secret indulgences will help people relate and engage.
2. Add Value
What can you offer your audience? For example, if you are a food based business, can you share a free recipe every now and again? Or if you sell homewares, can you offer some tips on how to style different rooms or areas of a house? This is a really great way to drum up engagement on your profile and encourage your audience to comment or save your posts which will in turn let the Instagram algorithm know that people value your content and want to keep seeing it.
3. Explain your ‘Why
What is the reason behind your business?
Why did you get started in the first place?
People love hearing about the purpose behind why you do what you do. You could also include a bit of history or random facts about your business in these captions as a way of helping your audience gain some insight into your brand.
4. Answer your FAQ’s
Make sure your most commonly asked questions have answers on your social media!
This is something you can post about regularly - don’t shy away from repeating yourself once a month or so. Consumers are increasingly heading to social media when doing their research on something or trying to find out more information.
If someone scrolled through your feed, would they be able to easily find the information they are looking for?
5. Share your processes
Give your audience some insight into how you create your products or services. We’re not telling you to give away all your trade secrets of course! But a little bit of information around how you styled a certain photo or how you managed to create that delicious looking culinary dish is always interesting to people who may not have ever thought about the steps of how you got from A to B.
