3 Productivity tools every entrepreneur should introduce into their week
3 HOURS = BIG IMPACT.
I've introduced the below 3 hours into my work week and they have been big game changers when it comes to high level thinking, planning and action in my small business.
I make them non-negotiable and treat them like a client meeting so it means I don't fall into any "reshuffling" aka doesn't happen habits.
CONTENT HOUR:
This is a solid, no interruptions hour each week dedicated to developing content (social, Pinterest, email, blog posts). If you have worked with me or seen me present you will know about my content triangle and how effective 1 piece of valuable content is. (Hint: go in with the game plan or subject ready to go so you can maximise) . My hour this week was creating 2 blog pieces (including this one), developing the promotional material for them (image to your left) and then scheduling them on Instagram and Pinterest and connecting them onto monthly email.
GROWTH HOUR:
This is one hour a week minimum dedicated to growing your knowledge. This is taking an online course, reading a book or blog post that will expand your mind, skills or learnings. It can be from businesses or an industry completely different from your own but transitional skills. Remember all those courses you’ve signed up for and don’t even make a dent in - use this hour each week to fully explore what’s on offer and how you can use the. I always jot down notes and as I write and think it will spur on a whole new set of ideas. I will also use this time for personal development or to learn and practice a new skill or software I’ve been meaning to try.
CEO HOUR:
This is similar to my concept of "dating your business". 1 hour dedicated to growing your business, working through the bigger ideas or vision, reassessing your goals and intentions. This is the big picture stuff whereas ' dating your business" is the actionable steps and detail on how to get there. It’s so important to keep that big vision clear as there are always a lot of moving parts. Sometimes you need to look to cut back omn products or services in order to make room for the bigger picture pieces or just to give yourself more space to perfect 1-3 offerings rather than trying to do 10 things with half energy.
There you have it - 3 hours - tailored for big picture thinking and results.
Unless you set the course you will find yourself going on a little too many detours and falling into the trap of being 'busy 24/7" .
Schedule them into this week and see how creating and holding space for your business feels at the end.
